About Cozy by Camille
While Cozy by Camille started in 2018, I first learned to knit as a teen when my bà (grandma) taught me the craft while watching TV together after school one day. She was a master knitter, who expertly made warm wool beanies for us grandchildren and intricate cabled sweaters and vests for my ông (grandpa). Initially beginning as a knitting diary, Cozy by Camille has since evolved into a small batch knitwear brand - but most of all, it’s a way for me to stay connected to my bà and the lessons I learned from her.
Objective
Audit and rebrand my small knitting business, Cozy by Camille, in order to update it to reflect my creative personality as well as my values and mission of creating handknit garments and accessories made with natural fibers.
Process
My first step was creating a moodboard on Figma with illustrations I admired and colors I gravitated toward. This helped me stay on track when it came to design and visual scope. From there, I sketched and finalized my yarn character (who I’ve nicknamed “Hank”) on Procreate, which was then transferred to Figma for further refinement. I illustrated the additional design elements and text on Figma, and then created mock-ups of my illustration and text on a sticker, tote, and clothing tags.
Mock-up
The above photo is what the tote would look like. Below are mock-ups of the sticker, clothing tag, which includes brand logo, slogan, and laundry directions for knit items. Stickers will be includeed with every sent order for customers to use at their own discretion.
What’s next
I plan to use the new brand design in a limited shop re-launch, where I’ll sell knits at select pop-ups in the coming Fall 2022/Winter 2023 season. Additional branded goods include stickers and printed postcards featuring Hank.
